AllSaints Treasure Island Pop-Up Container Arrives in SF!

Edgy British apparel brand AllSaints will give the Treasure Island Music Festival merch booths a face-lift this year (well, this weekend!) with much more than the standard screen-printed hoodies and posters. AllSaints's custom-branded shipping container (shown!) has just arrived in San Francisco and will be on-site at the festival grounds, carrying seasonally appropriate festival clothing and a sneak peek of its "Not For Sale" capsule t-shirt collection. The tees, which have already been spotted on a huge number of British celebs, won't arrive in the States 'til late October, so it's your first chance to get your hands on them! The décor of the shipping container will mimic the distinct aesthetic at the sharp brand's Union Square store (140 Geary St., 415-762-0702): expect worn leather chairs, a sewing machine or two, industrial factory tables, and old-school desk chairs.

Your Guide to Treasure Island Music Fest!

Countdown to the Treasure Island Music Festival! As a veteran TIMF-goer, I thought I'd pass along some tips to help make your trip halfway across the bay as seamless as possible.

Tickets: I hate to state the obvious, but buy tickets in advance! The festival has been known to sell out. Single-day tickets are still available for $69.50 and two-day tickets are available for $125. VIP admission, which includes a preferred viewing area next to the main stage, a tented lounge with access to a full liquor bar, private restroom facilities, and access to special VIP food concessions, is also still available for $119.50 (one-day) or $219.50 (two-day).
Parking: Due to traffic congestion and a shortage of parking, there will be no parking on the island this year, unless you have purchased on-island parking ($25-$50).
Free transportation: TIMF is providing complimentary transportation on and off the island to all ticket holders. There's free parking and a bus pick-up at Lot A at AT&T Park, which shuttles continuously between 11 a.m. and midnight, except for minimal service between 5 and 8 p.m. Overflow parking will be at Pier 48 and Lot D, which are adjacent to Lot A.
Boating: I arrived by sailboat to TIMF last year, and it couldn't have been easier! (The hard part is finding a friend with a boat!) The TI Marina has a limited number of guest slips, which you can access with a $10 gate key (which lets you in at the end of the night) and a $25 deposit. The office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days though, so you have to get there between that time for your key.
Biking: Thinking about biking? There will be complimentary bike service at Lot A at AT&T Park, and you can take the shuttle bus to the island with the rest of the drivers from there.
Mobile app: TIMF has a new app for iPhone, Android, and mobile web (aka BlackBerry), which you can use to navigate the lineup schedule, discover new acts, see the stages and vendors on the map, and tweet to the artists. There's also an "island camera," which is fun! Highly recommend downloading this for the weekend.

Treasure Island Releases Its 2011 Schedule!

Treasure Island Music Festival has just released its schedule for 2011! Set times are staggered across two stages, ensuring none of the 26 acts in the lineup perform at the same time. The final acts on Saturday are Death From Above 1979 and Empire of the Sun, and on Sunday, The Hold Steady and Death Cab For Cutie wrap up the weekend. Click to see the detailed schedule!

Treasure Island Music Festival Announces 2011 Lineup!

Treasure Island Music Festival has announced its 2011 lineup! The fest takes place this year on Oct. 15 and 16, and the lineup sounds great. I'm excited to see St. Vincent, Empire of the Sun, and Chromeo. Oh, and hello Dizzee Rascal! Brilliant.

Two-day general admission and VIP tickets, as well as parking passes, will go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. Single-day general admission, VIP tickets, and parking passes will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. I'll pass on the parking passes; I plan to arrive by sea!
