The 10th San Francisco Documentary Festival, aka Doc Fest, kicks off Friday night and runs through Oct. 27, with screenings of documentary films at the Mission's Roxie Cinema (3117 16th St., 415-863-1087) and Shattuck Cinema (2230 Shattuck Ave., 510-464-5980) in Berkeley. While the fest does spotlight people from all over the world (from the puppeteer behind Elmo to carnies to English punk rockers), a few of the films to be screened focus directly on our fair city, from a look at one of San Francisco's oldest diners and its patrons to the tracing of wild American ginseng in SF's Chinatown. Come find out which San Fran-centric films are in the lineup this year!
