On Our Radar: Ryan Scott Goes Mobile With 3-Sum Eats
I don't need much convincing to get sauced or sandwiched, especially when gnocchi tater tots are involved. So I'm excited to try Ryan Scott's new 3-Sum Eats food truck, which makes its debut this Thursday at the Off the Grid gathering in the Upper Haight (Stanyan and Waller Streets, 4 p.m. to dusk).

As the name suggests, 3-Sum's concept — "get sauced, tossed, and sandwiched" — is at once simple and irreverent. The former Mission Beach Cafe and Top Chef fixture will offer three choices in three categories: sandwiches, with cheeky names like Piggy and Shroomburger; salads and sides like the tater tots; and sweets such as the Kitchen Sink Cookie, a high-low homegrown blend of potato chips, Four Barrel coffee, and butterscotch chips. Though the sandwiches sound yummy, I'd also be happy to fill up on dessert.
