If shopping for denim has ever driven you to drink, smoke, or buy a pair of these, kick off your shoes and get ready to dance on the table: a new retail concept in town is about to curb those blue-jean-shopping blues. A collaboration between Levi's and American Rag founder Mark Werts, Industrie Denim (300 Grant St., 415-397-3800) just opened Friday in Union Square, a mere two blocks from the Levi's flagship, and it's everything we've been waiting for!
With a mission to have the largest and best selection of denim, the shop currently carries about 80 labels, from Levi's to Current/Elliott to J Brand to Rag & Bone to Comme Des Garçons, and many, many more. The first Industrie Denim location opened earlier this month in Scottsdale, AZ, and now we're lucky to welcome the second. Each shop has a resident "Jean-ius," with a sharp knowledge of every fit, wash, and style carried in store. Once you slip on your jeans, you can throw your neck-craning ways to the wind: each dressing room is outfitted with an "Ass Cam" to give you the best view of your booty. With two expansive floors styled with a one-of-a-kind, industrial-meets-"heritage" aesthetic, there's a zippered, five-pocket pair for every man and woman. You'll also find a great collection of edgy jewelry, artful coffee table books, home accessories, kicks, backpacks, and laid-back apparel to complete the lifestyle.
Can't make it over there ASAP? Come take a virtual tour of the stunning new space.
