Distillery No. 209 offers monthly tours at its Pier 50 location (Shed B, 707-363-8182) for $25 per person with master distiller Arne Hillesland. He shares the botanical selection from across four continents, the single shot distillation method, and use of only the "heart" or purest form of distillation, as well as a history of the brand, from its inception at Edge Hill Winery in Napa Valley in 1882. Following the tour, guests take a short walk to a nearby venue for a tasting component (in August it was Tsunami), where you try a 209 gin cocktail and can stay for dinner if you like!
