Lovingly launched by husband and wife “engineers-turned-pastry-chefs” Dennis and Catherine Eloise Leung, DeLise is one part sensible and all parts “delise-ious.” Crafted from organic, sustainable ingredients and packaged in biodegradable or compostable materials, DeLise’s sweets are good for you (and the environment!), but don’t skimp on the good stuff. Choose from a varied selection of preservative-free pastries, sandwiches, and ice creams, and your taste buds will get a run for their money, whether you like it or not.
Don’t believe us? Try DeLise’s unique take on the traditional Red Velvet Cupcake, which boasts peanut butter filling, cream cheese frosting, and toasted coconut flakes; a Green Tea Cupcake, filled with azuki red bean and slathered with sesame frosting; or a Devil’s Chocolate Cupcake, covered with dulce de leche frosting, sea salt, and pink peppercorns ($1.95 each). If you’re stuck on the savory, sample a Bacon Maple, Peking Duck, or Hawaiian Scone (that last one has pineapple, ham, and coconut – oh, my!; $1.50 each), or a Jalapeño Cheddar Muffin with streusel ($1.25). 6” Baguette Sandwiches round out the menu ($5.95; selections include Egg Salad, Bruléed Cheese, and Baba Ghanoush), and they’ve got sorbets, frozen yogurts, and ice creams, to boot ($2.25 single scoop, $3.50 double scoop, $4.50 triple scoop, and $7.50 pint).
We didn’t think it was possible, but our sweet tooth just got sweeter.
