For high fashion that's also high-minded, go west. On Saturday, April 2, the largest fashion show on the West Coast struts its runway regalia for the third year. Held at Fort Mason Center, the Charity Fashion Show features more than 40 designers and 1,200 guests — you included. Accessorize with a hot ticket that gets you up close and personal with the latest and greatest from national designers including Tracy Reese, Milly, Antik Batik, Naeem Khan, and Nicole Richie's Winter Kate collection, plus the Bay Area's best local talent. But before you settle into your seat to scope your Spring and Summer wardrobe, indulge at the preshow party lounge with complimentary wine tastings, swanky freebies like makeovers and Sprinkles cupcakes, and everyone's favorite: a photo booth. Once the show starts, you can relax knowing there's not a bad seat in the house — with stadium-style rows overlooking a floor-level stage — and that all this gawking is doing good, too. Proceeds from the show will go to this year's chosen charity, the Princess Project, a Bay Area nonprofit that boosts self-confidence by providing prom dresses to high schoolers who can't afford them. Think of it as a girls' night out that's paying it (fashion) forward.
